NYU College of Dentistry – Student Research

Research is an essential part of the mission of the NYU College of Dentistry and as such is also a part of the teaching mission for health science students. The contribution of research to advances in the knowledge base can be directly applied to patient care, and research as a career option is best demonstrated through the recognition of research as a prominent part of the activity of the faculty. While the NYU College of Dentistry has long recognized that its primary mission is teaching, it also places considerable emphasis on its research activities in the belief that an essential part of the education of dental students lies in understanding how research contributes to this knowledge. By participating in NYUCD Annual Student Research Days, dental students have the chance to share their work with peers, professors, and with the entire NYUCD community.
